PK commemorates 25th anniversary of historic ‘Margdarshan Resolution of 1991’

JAMMU, Dec 28: To commemorate 25th anniversary of the historic ‘Margdarshan Resolution of 1991’, Panun Kashmir organised a function, here today.
The function was presided over by the President of Panun Kashmir Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, while the chief guest was BJP State President and MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma and Rajesh Gupta, MLA Jammu East was the guest of honour. Rajkumar Nehru, Vice Chancellor of Vishwakarma University, Haryana was the special guest on the occasion. The function was attended by a number of prominent personalities from various walks of life.
On the occasion, the Margdarshan resolution was read by the National Spokesperson of PK Virender Raina. The resolution served as a beacon of light to the displaced community in its struggle for survival in exile. The resolution for the first time espoused the geopolitical aspirations of the Kashmiri Pandit community in the form of a separate homeland in Kashmir.
On the occasion, nine prominent personalities from various walks of life who have distinguished themselves in the public field were honored with a Saropa and garland. They were also presented with a copy of Neelmatapurana, the oldest treatise on the socio-cultural life in Kashmir. The persons who were honoured included Dr AN Pandit, DN Kissu, BN Khaar, Prem Singh, Chand Ji Bhat, Prof Virender Rawal, Pamposh Kaul, Robin Saproo and Kanwal Peshin.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President, PK presented the keynote address and said that Homeland is the only political solution of all the ills that the displaced community of Kashmiri Pandits is suffering from. He asked the Government of India to initiate a structured dialogue with the representative of the Pandits of Kashmir for their resettlement in the valley of Kashmir. He demanded that the Government needs to take number of confidence building measures.
MLA Rajesh Gupta said that KP community has tremendous resilience and are very learned and he has no doubts that they would achieve their objectives with flying colours.
MLA Sat Sharma while speaking on the occasion said that the KP community has strengthened the nationalist cause and Panun Kashmir has been in the forefront in its endeavor. Government would do everything possible to mitigate their sufferings, he said, adding that in the days to come the issue of the Temples Bill would also be looked into seriously.
Raj Nehru said that the KPs are endowed with knowledge and sagacity and it is high time that they turn to entrepreneurship and become job givers instead of job seekers. He also supported the cause for which the Panun Kashmir is relentlessly dedicated to.
Noted poet Shaad recited a wonderful poem on the occasion while Upinder Kaul presented vote of thanks.
