JAMMU, Dec 29: By organizing an impressive function here today, Nami Dogri Sanstha celebrated its 18th Foundation Day.
On the occasion, sweets were distributed among all those present and the members recalled the work done by Nami Dogri Sanstha for the promotion of Dogri script and Dogri language.
18 years ago, on December 19, 1998, Nami Dogri Sanstha was formed by its founder members S S Anand Lehar, Capt Lalit Sharma, Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila, Prof. Anupama Sharma, Prithvi Raj Sharma and Ramesh Rahi. It was the day when these founder members of Nami Dogri Sanstha decided to take the Dogri language to a newer height. At present Nami Dogri Sanstha is working under the patronage of Anand Lehar.
During the last 18 years, Nami Dogri Sanstha has organized various programmes to promote Dogri language, such as Kavi Ghoshthis, Kahani Ghoshthis, Kavi Sandhis, book release functions, felicitation functions, conferences etc. Youth wing of Nami Dogri Sanstha was also formed to promote the Dogri language amongst the youths.
