NEW DELHI, Jan 3: Outpla-ying Paras Cricket Club by 44 runs in the summit clash, Milchar Cricket Club, Delhi lifted the title trophy of the Chinar Premier League Edition-5, organized by the Sports Trust of Displaced Kashmiris, here.
Winning the toss and batting first, Milchar Cricket Club scored a decent total of 154 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process. Akash Tufchi top scored with 89 runs, studded with 9 delectable boundaries and 3 massive sixes, while Akash Raina contributed 10 runs to the total. For Paras Cricket Club, Shambu Jha and Nasir Khan took 2 wickets each, while Nitin Bakshi and Susheetal Dhar claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Paras Cricket Club managed to score 110 runs in the allotted 20 overs by losing 8 wickets, thus lost the match by 44 runs. Saaransh Choudhary top scored with 20 runs, while Nitin Bakshi and Nasir Khan contributed 16 runs each. For Milchar Club, Sumit Bhat and Sunil Bhat took 2 wickets each, while Akash Raina claimed one wicket. Akash Tufchi was adjudged as man of the match for his brilliant innings of 89 runs.
The match was officiated by ICC Umpire Anil Choudhary and Ravi Rawat.
Rahul Mussa was declared as Emerging Player of the League, while Aakash Raina was awarded for highest number of sixes and was adjudged as Best Batsman. Akash Tufchi, Anubhav Tufchi and Shambhu Jha were adjudged as Best Bowler and Emerging Talent, while Aman Zutshi was awarded for hitting the maiden century of the League and Nasir Khan was declared as man of the series.
The League, which was organized to give fillip to sports among displaced youth, was held under the overall supervision of Sumit Raj Kaul, Chairman Sports Trust of Displaced Kashmiris.
