FCC Abli wins T20 Cricket Tourney

DODA, Jan 5: Friends Cricket Club (FCC) Abli trounced Young Brother Cricket Club (YBCC) Gundna by 8 wickets and lifted the title trophy of the ongoing Block Level Cricket Tournament being played at Gundna, here.
The tournament was organized by Manzoor Ahmed, Chairman Asraria Cricket Club Banshalla under the aegis of Young Star Cricket Club Doda and in this tournament, around 16 teams from different part of the Gundna Block participated.
Earlier after winning the toss, YBCC Gundna elected to bat first. While batting, they set a meager target of 63 runs in 12 overs for the loss of all their wickets. Babar Parray and Zaffarullah Butt contributed 19 and 15 runs respectively for their team. From FCC Abli, Mohd Rafi and Mubashir Butt bowled a fine spell and shared 04 wickets each.
In reply, the superb performance from the bat of Mohd Rafi and Gh Nabi lead team FCC Abli to clinch the final trophy and they managed to chase down the stipulated target in 9.3 overs by losing their 02 wickets. Mohd Rafi played a fine knock of 35 runs while Gh Nabi contributed 20 runs for his team whereas from YBCC Gundna Saleem Butt took 02 wickets.
Later on Mohd Rafi of FCC Abli was declared as Man of the Match for his best all round performance.
Medical Officer Dr Hamid Parray was the Chief Guest while Headmaster Lower High School Malwana Satish Kumar was the Guest of Honor who distributed Rs 5000 to the final winning team and Rs 3000 to the runner up team with trophies.
Addressing the players and the local people who were present at the closing ceremony, Chief Guest Dr Hamid Parray lauded the efforts of Young Star Cricket Club Doda for holding such events in the rural areas which would definitely boost up the morale of rural youth while participating in such activities, added that sports activities are important for the overall physical and mental development of the youth.
The match was officiated by Manzoor Ahmed, Nawaz Ahmed and Yasir Butt.
