JAMMU: Minister for R&B and Parliamentary Affairs Mr Abdul Rehman Veeri today said that all necessary measures have been taken to restore essential services affected due to snowfall in the state.
He said strict instructions have been passed to the field functionaries to make extra efforts to restore the services on war-footing basis.
This was stated by the Minister while responding to the queries raised by the legislators in the Upper House soon after it assembled here on Monday.
The Minister said that control rooms have been set up in all the districts to monitor the situation arising due to snowfall and the people can directly contact district administration to seek redress of their grievances. He said strict instructions have been issued to the concerned departments especially R&B, PHE and Power to ensure restoration of public utilities in the affected areas. He said in this regard any negligence by the officials should be viewed seriously, as providing hassle-free basic amenities to the people is the priority of the government.
