JAMMU, Jan 11: Parade Sports Association XI registered emphatic victory Singh Akhnoor XI to stay alive in the 3rd New Year Masters T20 Cricket Cup, which played at Parade Ground, here today.
Six teams are participating in the tournament, which include Media XI, Sr Police XI, Doordarshan XI,Parade Sports Association XI, Cantt Cricket XI and Singh Akhnoor XI.
The event is being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Transport Department, J&K under the supervision of Sunil Kumar Sharma, Minister of State for Transport.
Ashok Kumar, Additional Secretary Transport Department was the chief guest in today’s proceedings, who was accompanied by RK Bhat SSP and Rajesh Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officer and Coordinator of the tournament.
Parade Sports Association defeated Singh Akhnoor Cricket XI by 3 wickets.
Batting first, Parade Sports Association XI scored 98 runs in stipulated 20 overs for the loss of 8 wickets, with Anshuman (22), Pardeep Bali (18) and Akshay (11) being the main scorers. Sham took 3 wickets, while Manjeet Singh, Raman Dutta and Malditta shared 1 wicket each.
Singh Akhnoor Cricket XI, in reply collapsed at 79 runs in 16.1 overs, thus lost the match by 19 runs. Manjeet and Deepak with 23 and 13 runs were the main scorers. Anshuman, Pardeeep Bali and Sanjay Sharma took 2 wickets each, while Akshay and Sunny took 1 wicket each for Parade Sports Association. Anshuman was adjudged as man of the match.
The match was officiated by Naresh, Sandeep and Vinod.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Cantt Cricket Club will take on Singh Akhnoor XI at 12.30 pm.
