JAMMU, Jan 15: Jammu Rising Stars scripted 5th win in the ongoing 7-Match Cricket Series for junior cricketers, being organized by Vishal Cricket Club at Parade Ground, here today.
The Series is being held under the supervision of Rajesh Gill, former Ranji Player.
Ramesh Kotwal SSP was the chief guest in today’s match, who was introduced with the budding cricketers on the occasion.
Earlier, Jammu Rising Stars defeated Vishal Rising Stars by 6 wickets.
Batting first, Vishal Rising Stars scored a modest total of 92 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Praful Dhar top scored with 39 runs, while Ashim Nanda contributed 21 runs to the total. Medium pacer Laith was the pick of the bowlers, who took 3 important wickets, while Dhruv bagged 2 wickets. Sachin and Jugjap claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Jammu Rising Stars achieved the target in 15.4 overs by losing 4 wickets. Sachin (13), Laith (13) and Swastik Sharma (10) were the main contributors. For Vishal Rising Stars, Praful Dhar, Aditpal Singh, Ashim Nanda and Agastya Sharma shared 1 wicket each. Laith of Jammu Rising Stars was adjudged as man of the match for his all-round display.
The seventh and last match of the league will be played tomorrow at 9.30 am.
