Rail service suspended again due to snowfall in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: Rail run between Baramulla in North Kashmir and Banihal in Jammu region was again suspended this evening due to moderate to heavy snowfall after the service was resumed in this morning.

A railway official told UNI that the rail service has again been suspended this evening due to accumulation of snow on the tracks at several places following moderate to heavy snowfall. He said the train running between Srinagar-Budgam-Baramulla was suspended due to accumulation of snow on tracks following fresh snowfall since noon. Similarly, train from Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund to Banihal was also suspended.

He said efforts were being made to clear the snow on the tracks to resume the rail run. (AGENCIES)
