RAJOURI, Oct 13: Chowdhary-Nar Panchayat bagged overall trophy in the 2-day Inter-Panchayat Block Level Tournament, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, which concluded at Mini Sports Stadium, here today.
Sawani Panchayat claimed the second place, while the third place went jointly to Dhangri and Palam Panchayats in this event which was held under a Centrally Sponsored Scheme- Panchayat Yuva Krida Aur Khel Abhiyan (PYKKA).
District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Rajouri, was chief guest on the concluding ceremony, who distributed prizes among the winners and runners up teams on the occasion. He was accompanied by Bharat Bhushan Sharma, Zonal Physical Education Officer Rajouri and Ashok Kumar Gandotra, ZPEO Doongi.
Earlier, Chingus Panchayat won boys handball title, Chowdhary-Nar Panchayat bagged boys badminton title, while badminton girls title went to Palam Panchayat.
In basketball boys, Chowdhary-Nar Panchayat bagged the trophy, while Kalalkuss Panchayat lifted the volleyball girls title.
In volleyball boys, Dhangri Panchayat bagged the title trophy, while in hockey boys the title trophy went to Sawani Panchayat.
Meanwhile, PYKKA Tournament of Block Mendhar also concluded at Mendhar today with the final match of Kabaddi between Harni Panchayat and Panchayat Lower Dharana.
The tournament in which 25 Panchayats participated was held under the supervision of Basharat Khan.
SDPO Mendhar, Amit Bhasin was the chief guest, who distributed prizes among the winners and runners up teams.
Enthused by the event, SDPO announced the organization of Sports Mela in the area to boost the morale of sportspersons. Vice Principal, GHSS Mendhar was also present on the occasion.
The matches were officiated by Ibrar Khan, Mir Alam, Mohd Wasim, Majid Khan, Sakinder Azam, Mohd Arif Mir and Aurangzeb Tariq.
The Inter-Panchayat Tournament of Block Gandoh was organized at Government Higher Secondary School Kilhotran in Doda.
The tournament was inaugurated by Balkrishan, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Gandoh in presence of SR Kotwal District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Doda.
The tournament was held under the supervision of ZPEO Gandoh, KK Kotwal.
