JAMMU, Feb 2: District Police Udhampur today kick-started a T-20 Cricket Tournament at Subash Stadum Udhampur, as a part of Sports Festival under Civic Action Programme.
The first match was played between Spartan Cricket club and Ramnagar Cricket Club.
After winning the toss, Ramnagar Cricket Club decided to field first.
Spartan Cricket Club Udhampur set a target of 138 runs, losing 9 wickets in the process in stipulated 20 overs.
In reply, Ramnagar Cricket Club bundled out for 78 runs. Nirbhaya Badyal of Spartan Cricket Club Udhampur was declared as man of the match.
The second match was played between Bar Association Cricket Club and Kallar Cricket Club. Earlier, winning the toss, Bar Association Cricket Club decided to bat first to set a target of 109 runs which was achieved by Kallar Cricket Club in 15.4 overs.
Mohan Lal Kaith, Additional Superintendent of Police, Udhampur was the chief guest on the occasion who inaugurated the match in presence of DySP Hqrs Udhampur SHO Udhampur, players and prominent citizens of Udhampur town.
The organizers said that the tournament was organized to promote the essence of sportsmanship among the youth and to keep them away from social evils and channelize their energy in positive direction.
