JAMMU, Oct 14: Two days Block Level Inter Panchayat (PYKKA) Tournament organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports commenced today at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Bhaderwah.
Ashwani Kumar Koul, Principal of the school was the chief guest, who declared the tournament open in presence of Ajit Kumar Kotwal, Principal, Government Higher Secondary School, Boys, Bhaderwah was the guest of honour.
A total 205 students and non students drawn from 16 panchayats are competing in sporting events including Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Handball and Taekwondo.
The tournament is being conducted under all over the supervision of DYSSO Doda, SR Kotwal and under the guidance of Ashok Kotwal, ZPEO, Bhaderwah and KK Kotwal, ZPEO, Bhalla.
On the first day in Volleyball event, Dugga Panchayat defeated Chinchora Panchayat by 2-1 sets, whereas, in Kabaddi event, Buttla Panchayat defeated Sungli Panchayat by 2 Points. In Kho-Kho, Saddar Panchayat defeated Ghata Panchayat by 5 Points.
The matches were officiated by Aftab Alam, PEM, Rafi-ud-Din, PET, Jai Kumar, PET, Sanjay, PET, Subash Chander Sharma, PET, Leela Kotwal, PEM, Neeta Manhas, Alka PET, Rajni Kotal and Susheela Kumari, PET.
