JAMMU : A day after activists of BJP and National Conference clashed, district administration has imposed Section 144 in Kalakote belt of Rajouri district in Jammu region.
“Sensing trouble, Section 144 has been imposed in Kalakote belt of Rajouri,” police here today said.
They said that District Administration has also ordered closure of all the schools and colleges of Kalakote area in view of Section 144 imposed in municipal jurisdiction of Kalakote.
“To prevent any tension further, Section 144 has been imposed as preventive measures,” they added.
BJP and NC activists yesterday clashed over creation of new wards ahead of Panchayat Polls scheduled to be held in March.
NC workers objected to the move of PDP-BJP government following which clash broke out in which at least people, including the PRO of a senior BJP Minister suffered injuries.
Meanwhile, five people were also detained and case was registered. (AGENCIES)
