Employees of Department of Posts honoured for their performance at a function in Jammu on Sunday.

Jammu, Oct 14: Department of Posts held Postmasters’ Conference at Police auditorium, Gulshan Ground here today.
During the  conference an interactive session was held with Postmaster’s of Jammu division with Chief Postmaster General to ascertain the ground level situation. Jagdeep Gupta, Director Postal Services highlighted the initiatives taken by J&K Postal circle under the leadership of John Samuel Chief Postmaster General in transforming the Post Office in J&K which include modernizing Post Office in phased manner holding exhibitions, introducing the concept of “MY Stamp” which has earned considerable revenue for the department in J&K, “I Love my Post Office” and “Night post office” services at Srinagar GPO and Gandhinagar HPO.
Amit Sharma Director (Finance) J&K Postal Circle while speaking on the occasion spoke about the 24 % growth in overall revenue generation and 40 % growth in Saving Banks during the last financial year and he stressed upon the participants to continue with this momentum during this year also.  During this conference, faculty of Business School of Jammu University gave discourse on Customer relation, team building and conflict resolution. The function was presided over by John Samuel, Chief Postmaster General, J&K. In his inaugural presidential address John Samuel, stated that Post Office was a unique infrastructure and it is going all out to build its customer relations. He advised participants that they should interact with customers with positive frame of mind, so that a customer after visiting a Post Office is fully satisfied from its services.  Samuel added that Post Office is  going in big way to achieve the goal of financial inclusion of all strata of society, so that each household has minimum a Post Office Savings Bank Account in the country. He also informed that J&K Post Offices has adopted a slogan “Going Forward” and J&K Post Offices shall move in forward direction and show it is best during this year.
Meanwhile, to encourage postal employees to excel in their performance and recognize their contribution, Department of Posts, gave awards to its outstanding employees. Awards were presented by Member Parliament Madan Lal Sharma to Vinod Kumar Bhat,  Ramesh Kachroo, Ramesh Bali, Speed Post Pick up men were given 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes in Speed Post collection, respectively, while as Gandhinagar Head Post Office and Jammu Tawi HPO were given prizes for best performance in Speed Post.
Employees who topped in procurement of PLI and RPLI business were also awarded. Daleep Kumar Gumbal. PA Circle Office, Jammu got the first position while Chand Kumar, Accountant Gandhinagar HPO stood second and Dalip Tukra, Sr Accountant, DAP office Jammu ranked 3rd in departmental official category for PLI. In GDS category Vinod Kumar Bhat, Ramesh Kachroo and Ram Krishen Bhat were given 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively. S. N. Bhat got the prize for best performance as Development officer. In respect of RPLI, Ramesh Kumar, BPM Kot and Bodh Raj, BPM Kharah got 1st and 2nd prizes.
