NEW DELHI:  Minister for Information and Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad today said the Indian authorities are in touch with their counterparts in the US for resolving the H1B Visa issue.

The Indian IT companies and entrepreneurs have raised concerns over the H1B Visa issue.

Stating that Indian IT entities have provided quality and effective services to US’ 500 fortune companies, Mr Prasad said, ”Some concerns have been expressed, we are in coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs.

They are in touch with their counterparts in US Administration to ensure some of the concerns raised for proper dealing.” He also said Indian IT companies are working in about 200 cities of 80 countries and its export valuations stood at 107-billion-dollar and paying over 20-billion-dollar in the form of taxes to US Administration only. In the run-up to US Presidential election, Mr Trump had promised to generate jobs in the country, so to achieve this, time and again unequivocally stated that his Government would prevent outsourcing and revise H1B visa issues.

Yesterday, Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman held a meeting with the Government officials and leading industry bodies to discuss on H1B visa issue.  (AGENCIES)
