JAMMU, Feb 14:  The protest  dharna  of  the PDD casual/ need based workers entered 177th day here today.
These workers had launched their protest/ dharna demanding regularization of  casual workers  and release of  their pending wages,  in front of the office of Chief Engineer EM&RE, Bhagwati Nagar Jammu under the leadership of Akhil Sharma, state president and Sesh Kumar, provincial president.
The speakers alleged that PDD authorities have failed to release the wages of many  workers    for the last 50 to 60 months, provide compensation to death cases while at work, frame regularization policy  and provide insurance cover to the hapless workers. They condemned the State Govt for the exploitation of these workers, who are facing worst kind of  human rights violation.
They alleged that it has become habit  of  this Govt to offer rewards only to those who raise voice against rulers and indulge in anti-national activities, or stone pelting on security forces as witnessed in Kashmir.  The Govt should avoid to test the patience of  the youth from Jammu and ignore them at the cost of those indulging in anti-national and anti-social activities in other parts of the State.
