JAMMU, Feb 15: NHPC Limited, India’s premier hydropower company and a ‘Mini Ratna’ Category-I Enterprise of Government of India hosted the 19th Inter CPSU Table Tennis Tournament under the aegis of Power Sports Control Board (PSCB), Ministry of Power, Govt. of concluded at NHPC’s Chamera Power Station-I, Chamba, Himachal Pradesh.
Ten teams from power sector participated in the tournament and the teams included Ministry of Power, Central Electricity Authority, Damodar Valley Corporation, Powergrid, NEEPCO, SJVNL, PFC, BBMB, THDC and NHPC.
Three events i.e. Team, Doubles and Singles were organized during the tournament.
In the team event, Powergrid, SJVNL and BBMB emerged winners, 1st runners-up and 2nd runners-up respectively.
In the doubles event, J. Mukherjee and Charanjeet Singh of Powergrid, the team of Inderesh of Ministry of Power and Naresh Chhibber of CEA and Paramjit Singh and Navneet Gupta of BBMB emerged as winners, 1st runners-up and 2nd runners-up respectively.
In the individual event, J. Mukherjee of Powergrid, Jeta Ukhal of SJVNL and Ravi Chaudhary of Powergrid emerged as winners, 1st runners-up and 2nd runners-up respectively.
Felicitating the winners and participants on the occasion of closing ceremony, chief guest, Balraj Joshi, Director (Technical), NHPC congratulated the winning teams and appreciated all players for their participation and sportsman spirit.
Trophies, medals and certificates were presented to the winners on behalf of Power Sports Control Board.
Himachal Pradesh Table Tennis Association conducted the Tournament.
