JAMMU, Feb 16: Magnificent innings of 70 runs by Shubham Khajuria helped Simula Cricket Club to crush Shastri Cricket Club by a big margin of 73 runs in the ongoing KC Sports Club Winter Cup, being played at KC School ground, here.
Earlier, batting first, Simula Club scored a good total of 148 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Shubham Khajuria played a brilliant innings of 70 runs, hitting a series of boundaries in it, while Puneet contributed valuable 34 runs. Both the batsmen sent the rival bowlers on a leather-hunt and played all the shots with grace and fluidity. For Shastri Club, Anchal and Aman took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Shastri Club bundled out for a paltry total of 75 runs, thus lost the match by 73 runs. Arvind top scored with 19 runs, while Chander was the only other batsman to cross double figure mark and chipped in with 13 runs. For Simula, Kuldeep Kumar, Hardeep Singh and Shubham claimed 2 wickets each. For his splendid 70 runs and 2 wickets, Shubham was adjudged as man of the match.
