SAMBA, Feb 26: Samba Police has seized 530 kgs of poppy straw from a truck bearing registration number JK22A/1492 which was on its way from Lassipora Pulwama in South Kashmir to Banaras in UP late last night.
According to police A joint naka was laid by Samba police and SOG Jammu at Mansar Morh to check the Kashmir based vehicles. During checking a truck bearing regd. No.JK22A/1492 which was on its way from Lassipora Pulwama Kashmir to Banaras (UP) was intercepted at about 1900 hrs.at the joint Naka. During the checking of the truck 530 kgs of poppy straw was recovered .The whole operation was conducted by SHO P/ S Samba and I/C PP SIDCO under the supervision of Dy. SP Hqrs Samba
In this regard case FIR No.28/2017 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered in P/S Samba and the accused Persons namely Ashiq Hussain Dar Driver S/o Ghulam Hussain Dar, Sajad Ahmed Dar S/o Ab. Majid Dar and Umer Mushtaq Dar S/o Mushtaq Ah. Dar all residents of Check Sangram, Tehsil & Distt. Shopian have been arrested besides seizing the truck in question and the contraband items.
