JAMMU, Mar 1: The extraordinary display of skill and talent by Adhya, a product of Colonel’s Walk & Trot Riding School, Jammu, in Open Horse Riding Competition Mounted Gymkhana event held at Pune in Maharashtra recently, will boost the young horse riders and will give fillip to this sport in Jammu and Kashmir.
Adhya, a 5th class student of APS Bari Brahmana brought laurels to the State by winning a bronze medal in Mounted Gymkhana event at Pune.
With the formation of Equestrian Association of J&K, under the patronage of J&K Sports Council with retired Col RS Parmar as its President, the Equestrian Activities in the state will get a fillip in the State.
The Association will train young boys and girls in various equestrian disciplines like trotting, galloping, show jumping, dressage, cross country, tent pegging etc to enable them to take part in National Equestrian Sports which are conducted under the aegis of (EFC) Equestrian Federation of India
The Equestrian Association has 6 thoroughbred horses, with a trained and an experienced coach.
