Srinagar, Mar 4: A review meeting of Motor Vehicle Department in Kashmir Division was convened today under the chairmanship of Transport Commissioner, J&K, Sheikh Fayaz Ahmad which was also attended by RTO Kashmir and all other ARTOs of Kashmir Division.
According to an official statement, all issues pertaining to the Department including demand of transporters were discussed. The Transport Commissioner directed all the field officers/officials of the department to provide prompt service to the people.
As per the statement, it was informed by RTO Kashmir to the Transport Commissioner that all offices of Kashmir Division have shifted over to online version of registration and licensing except Leh and Kargil.
The Transport Commissioner directed that the money released under various heads be utilized and assured that printers would be made available to the offices of the Kashmir Division to ensure time bound delivery of the driving licences to the people.
The statement said that the Commissioner insisted on holding of RTA meeting, enforcement of Public Service Guarantee Act and RTI, holding of awareness camps etc. He also stressed the need for achieving the revenue targets. The Transport Commissioner also visited the under-construction buildings of Transport Commissioner Office and RTO office at Bemina here.
As per the statement, he also made surprise inspection of RTO office and took stock of working of the various sections, particularly the practical implementation of online software.
