Sir,
The State Government through Financial Commissioner Relief & Rehabilitation constituted a five member committee for screening of the registration of bonafide Kashmiri applicants for the migrant status. This order is ill conceived for the reason it reads, “The Committee will recommend the registration of the bonafide migrants who have migrated or may migrate”. This is mere absurd. On one side the order says bonafide and on the other side people ‘may’ migrate in future. All is guess work. Who shall and who shall not migrate is a million dollar question ?
This way the Govt has opened flood gates for fresh mass exodus. It seems there is some sinister plan behind the exercise. Well said, “the open door tempts even a saint”. The registration banned by the Govt in 2008 started afresh after nine long years speaks volumes about the ill designs of the Government. Criticism at the individual or organisational level is understandable.
