SRINAGAR : A moderate earthquake, measuring 4.8 magnitude on Richter scale, hit parts of Kashmir valley this morning, forcing people to rush out of their homes in panic.
The tremors, which were felt at 0814 hrs in parts of Northwestern Jammu and Kashmir, lasted in few seconds.
A Met department spokesman said that quake was also felt in summer capital, Srinagar and its adjoining areas. ”We have also recorded tremors,” he said, adding that its epicenter and other details are awaited.
However, there was no report of any loss of life or damage to property so far, he said. (AGENCIES)
