JAMMU, Mar 9: A man died in a hit and run case, while police arrested the accused driver.
As per police sources, a senior citizen identified as Parmjeet Singh, son of Bikham Singh of Pulwama, at present Kartholi Bari Brahmana received injuries after being hit by an unknown vehicle.
The victim was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where he failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to his injuries.
In this regard, a case under FIR Number 26/17 under Section 304-A and 279 RPC was registered at Bari Brahmana police station and investigation started.
During investigation, police interrogated several drivers and finally arrested the accused bus driver, who has been identified as Tirth Ram, son of Kenthu Ram of Dayalachak. A bus bearing registration number JK21-0097 was also seized.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Bari Brahmana Inspector Mahesh Sharma made the arrest under supervision of DySP Usman and SSP Samba Anil Mangotra.
