52 Colleges participate in 2-Day Technical, Cultural Fest

JAMMU, Mar 21: Global Institutes concluded its 5th Annual Technical & Cultural Fest ‘Udaan 2017’ here today.
During the two day extravaganza, many cultural and sports events were held in which students participated with fervor and enthusiasm.
The mega event is an annual feature of the Institute and consists of a wide spectrum of co-curricular, extra-curricular and cultural activities.
Over 4000 students from 52 different colleges participated in the fest. The event was scattered with over 80 competitions for the students to put up their spirited efforts and the prize money won was over Rs. 4 lakhs.
The world renowned Punjabi Pop Singer Sharry Maan fascinated the students with their choicest of songs in the campus.
The Tech-Fest was inaugurated by Chairman of Global Institutes Dr BS Chandi and he advised the budding engineers to work diligently and scale greater heights in their professional career and life.
The Technical events included Auto-Cad Design, Editing Using Adobe Photoshop, Live Project Exhibition, Robo War, Code War and Technical Quiz.
In the Non-Technical Events, the students tested their skill in Bridge Building, Sight on site, Soap Cutting, Tatoo Making, Nail Art, Face Painting, Sudoku, Rangoli Making, Lan Gaming, Mehandi, Paper Dance, Fun Cricket, Sketch Art, Recycling, Collage Making, Clay Modeling, Cartooning, Theme Photography, Paper Presentation, Essay Writing, Extempore, Poster Making, Business Idea and Break the Queries.
The Cultural events included Singing, Solo Dance, Group Dance, Street Play, Folk Dance, Skit, Mime, Choreography and Rock the Band.
The events were followed by award ceremony which included Cash Prizes to the University Toppers, Merit Position holders and class toppers.
Amrojpreet Singh of B.tech Mechanical department, Harsimranjit Kaur of B.Tech IT department and Salwinder Kaur of MCA, who stood first in PTU merit list received a cash prize of Rs. 50000 each for their glorious achievement. A total cash prizes worth Rs. 4 Lakh were distributed to the students for their University merit positions.
Global Institutes was declared the overall winner for the Technical events and Rayat Bahra College won the Cultural events title.
