DODA, Mar 23: Two persons were arrested today by Doda police for possessing 10 litres of illicit liquor as well as 13 litres of lahan.
As a part of drive against illicit liquor launched by Doda Police on Wednesday, a police party of police post Goha led by Incharge, PP Goha, SI Firdous Ahmed and SHO, police station Doda, Inspector Bishnesh Sharma, raided two houses belonging to Rattan Lal son of Duni chand and Bishan Das son of Thachu Ram at Prabble, tehsil Marmat, on a specific information.
During the search of the houses, police recovered 13 litres of lahan and 10 litres of illicit liquor from both the houses. The liquor was seized and the lahan was destroyed on the spot while both the accused were arrested on the spot.
In this regard, a case FIR No 51/07 U/S 48-A Excise Act stands registered at Police Station Doda and further investigation in the case is going on.
