SRINAGAR, Mar 29: Describing the deteriorating situation in Kashmir valley as an outcome of the backstabbing and betrayal with the people by PDP after securing votes on sensitive issues like revocation of AFSPA, demilitarization and defeating communal forces, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president GA Mir has said PDP is responsible for unabated civilian killings and losses to property in the Valley and cautioned the people against the politics of exploitation on the part of PDP.
Addressing election rallies in South Kashmir today, Mir blamed the ruling dispensation for the current disturbances, which are being encouraged by the PDP for electoral gains, but this time people have decided to defeat the PDP- BJP Coalition hell bent upon to divide people to serve their dirty political ends.
He described the damages caused to both life and property as an outburst against the communal agenda of PDP- RSS, for the fact, the people had never expected such an unholy alliance in the State. It is the PDP which has enabled RSS to make inroads in the State, thereby vitiating atmosphere of peace in the Valley.
Mir said people in the Valley are deadly against the unholy alliance of PDP -BJP and wants change, as they feel scared and threatened of the communal agenda being imposed in the State by the ruling dispensation. He said people in Kashmir don’t want communal forces to rule the State, as this State has remained a symbol of multiplicity and harmony.
He termed the upcoming elections as an opportunity for the people to defeat the PDP for adopting indifferent attitude about the genuine concerns of the people and appealed them to vote for INC -NC candidates and ensure their victory with a huge margin.
Speaking on the occasion former minister Taj Mohi- ud-Din urged upon the INC- NC leaders to work tirelessly and reach out to people for their support in the upcoming elections to ensure victory of GA Mir. He expressed confidence that INC -NC will win both South Kashmir and Central Kashmir, for the fact, people have realized that PDP backstabbed them for electoral gains in 2014 Assembly elections.
Those who addressed the meeting included Mohd Yaqoob Ganie, MLA Gulzar Ahmad Wani, Hilal Ahmad Shah, Irfan Ahmad Bhat, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Dr Shafi, Indu Pawar, Shahnawaz, Shaheena Nadaf and others.
