JAMMU, Mar 31: For the second consecutive day, aggrieved B Ed students of Gandhi Memorial College, Raipur Domana, held a protest demonstration against the Kashmir University for its failure to conduct their examinations.
The protesting B Ed students raised slogans against the Kashmir University, to which their college is affiliated with. They also accused the KU authorities of adopting a step motherly approach towards its affiliated colleges in Jammu.
As per the protesters, the B Ed students enrolled for the year 2015-17, are still studying in Gandhi Memorial College since last two years having undergone all the four semesters but the KU has not conducted their examinations of even a single semester.
Some NSF activists also joined the protesting B Ed students and expressed solidarity with them.
While addressing the protest demonstration, Manmohan Singh, Jammu District spokesperson of NSF, criticized the Kashmir University for its failure to maintain control over the institutions affiliated to it. He appealed the Chancellor and Pro Chancellor to intervene in the matter and rescue the career of these unfortunate students whose academic future is being subjected to jeopardy besides draining them financially.
Reshikesh Rana, another NSF leader, also addressed the gathering and demanded action against the persons responsible for unprecedented delay in exams.
Others who addressed the protest demonstration, included Pardeep Sharma, Neeru Devi, Sakshi Sharma, Pooja Devi, Tanu Manhas, Sonu Chauhan, Niharikaa Singh, Heena Rajput, Rohit Kumar, Anjit Kotwal, Raja Ram, Sudarshan Singh and Kuldeep Raina.
