JAMMU, Mar 31: J&K State Wushu Championship for Under-14 boys and Under-17 girls, under Khelo India concluded at Jammu University, here today.
Minister for CAPD, Zulfkar Ali was the chief guest , while ADGP L. Mohanty was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Ranjeet Kalra, Vice Chairman District Jammu Sports Council presented welcome address and briefed about the Khelo India Scheme and applauded the Wushu Association of India for its brilliant results in the International event.
Minister congratulated J&K State Sports Council and Wushu Association of J&K for its initiatives in organizing the State event.
He Appreciated Secretary J&K State Sports Council Waheed-Ur-Rehman Parra for promoting the sports in every nook and corner of the state.
He also congratulated Kuldeep Handoo Chief Coach of India for producing International medalists not in other parts of country but from J&K also.
Mr Mohanty also lauded the efforts of the Association and Council in holding the event.
The chief guest and the guest of honour distributed total cash prize of 1.40 Lakh to the medal winners on the occasion.
The overall championship went to Samba district, while as Budgam and Srinagar districts shared 2nd and 3rd places respectively.
Mohsin, young physically challenged boy was declared the best fighter of the event.
The vote of thanks was presented by Deepak Handa (VP) of Wushu Association of J&K.
