It must be mentioned here that the Gurez-Bandipora road remains cut off from the rest of the world for more than 6 months during winter due to the accumulation of heavy snow.
The Razdan pass which is at the height of about 11672 feet above sea level is the main reason for remaining of cut off because in every winter it remains under 20 feet snow. The residents said that the tunnel is the only alternative for uninterrupted connectivity and urged Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to look into the matter personally.
