Parihar inaugurates upgradation work of two link roads

DODA, Apr 1: Member Legislative Assembly (MLA), Doda, Shakti Raj Parihar, today inaugurated upgradation work of two major link roads in his constituency.
The 15 kilometer Khelani-Dhranga road and 18 kilometer Jungalwad-Sarsi road with an estimated cost of Rs 18 crore and 17 crore, respectively, would be up-graded to provide smooth road connectivity to thousands of people living in remotest corners of this constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Doda said the Central and State Government is committed to provide road connectivity to rural areas, besides ensuring uninterrupted power and regular water supply to the people in every corners of the State.
He said earlier the roads were under State Government’s Public Works and Roads and Building (PWD,R&B) Department and due to low funding, up-gradation work on these roads were hanging in balance, but now the roads have been taken over by Prime Minister Grameen Sadak Youjna (PMGSY) to resolve this problem.
“The work has been resuming for the up-gradation of roads including black topping and widening so that people gets proper road connectivity at their door steps. Roads are not only provide connectivity to any area but also connect them with development and to open new avenues of development at the grass root level.” he added.
MLA expressed dissatisfaction over the condition of roads in the district. He assured the public that the present Government is determined to translate their commitments into action by providing connectivity to the rural areas and maintaining the condition of already constructed roads. He said that the process of identification of the areas without road connectivity has been started and work on such projects will be started shortly.
