SRINAGAR, Apr 3: Awami National Conference (ANC) has urged upon the  people of Kashmir to defeat the communal forces in the coming Lok Sabha elections.
President of the party Begum Khalida Shah in a statement here supported the INC-NC candidates and said that PDP and BJP were promoting communal agenda in  the State for their vested interests.
She said by-elections to the two parliamentary seats in the State are taking place at a time when Kashmir is in the throes of a grave crisis. Communal and divisive forces, which got a foothold in J&K with the installation of PDP-BJP Government, are raring to gather strength.
The communal forces are  out to destroy the secular fabric of Kashmir and pose a serious challenge to the basic secular foundation of India. The prevailing situation calls for a similar display of secular credentials by the people of Kashmir. Looking at the larger picture, ANC has decided to support the National Conference and Congress candidates in the forthcoming elections from Srinagar and Anantnag parliamentary constituencies.
