JAMMU, Apr 6: Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) Rajouri and NIT Kashmir registered wins over their rivals in Cricket Tournament, which is as part of the ongoing 1st State Universities Sports Championships, being organized by University of Jammu at Varsity grounds, here.
Earlier, in the first match, BGSBU defeated SKUAST Kashmir by 53 runs. Batting first, BGSBU scored 111 runs, losing 3 wickets in the process. Rahul was the top scorer with 87 runs, studded with 10 fours and 5 sixes, while Murtza contributed 18 runs. Sahil and Indleeb claimed one wicket each for SKUAST Kashmir.
In reply, SKUAST Kashmir managed to score 58 runs, thus lost the match by 53 runs. Suhail scored 25 runs, while Sajid and Indleeb chipped in with 13 and 12 runs respectively. Rahul, Shoaib and Sarwt shared one wicket each.
The match was officiated by Saleem-ur-Rehman, Sadiq Hussain Malik and Vinod.
In another match played today, nit Kashmir defeated Central University Kashmir by 30 runs. NIT scored 90 runs, with Moonis and Azhar contributing 35 and 31 runs to the total respectively. Parvez nd Junaid took 1 wicket each for Central University Kashmir.
In reply, Central University Kashmir managed to score 60 runs, thus lostthe match by 30 runs. Ishfaq top scored with 41 runs. Amir Bhat claimed one wicket for NIT Kashmir.
