JAMMU, Apr 7: Various Sikh organizations have vowed to create awareness in the community and strengthen it at grass root level by organising various meetings across the State.
A one day meeting in this connection was organised at Gole Gujral today by the Inderpal Singh Sarpanch and Harvinder Singh under the chairmanship of Dayal Singh Wazir, president Shiromani Akali Dal J&K, alongwith various Sikh organizations of J&K including Sikh United Front, Bhai Kanhiya Nishkam Sewa Society, AISSF, Sikh Naujawan Sabha, Sikh Welfare Society and some members of DGPC Jammu including Amrik Singh, Darbinder Singh, Ramnik Singh, Fateh Singh, Raja Singh and Surinder Singh Kala, convenor J&K Motor Transport Companies Association.
The meeting was organized under the directions of Mahant Manjit Singh Ji of Dera Nangali Sahib, Poonch to bring the unity among the Sikh masses and build the Sikh organizations strong at grass- root level. During the meeting many long pending issues and problems faced by the Sikh community were also discussed. It was suggested that Sikh bodies should be reorganized from block level to district, province and State level in J&K.
The participants in the meeting unanimously passed a resolution and appealed the Sikh community to remain united at one platform to fight and achieve the goal. The all speakers stressed the need to wage a war against drugs addiction, spreading in the society. The Sikh youth was advised to work for the betterment of Sikh community and for their bright future.
The participants appealed the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to strictly direct the Police to take strict action against drug mafia and book the culprits under PSA and also demanded action against the Police officials who are also conniving with the drug mafia.
Jathedar J. Singh, Gurbaksh Singh Ex-president Gurdwara Sach Khand Sabih, Jaswant Singh, Harpal Singh Prince, Swarn Singh, Amrit Pal Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Vikram Singh, Jasbir Singh and others participated in the meeting.
