Ramban Police organizes marathon

JAMMU, Oct 17: Deviating from the normal routine to strengthen the Police Public relations, Ramban Police today organized a Marathon ‘Run for Fun’ under Civic Action Programme, here today.
The marathon was held in 4 categories Open  Category Civilians (above 35 years), Open Category Civilian (below 35 years), School Boys and School Girls at Ramban.
Perbeet Singh Parihar, DySP (Hqrs) Ramban, Ghan Sham Singh, ACR Ramban and CEO Ramban flagged off the Marathon from Jaiswal Bridge, here.
Around 600 students of Govt Higher Secondary School Boys Ramban, Govt Hr Secondary School Girls Ramban, Govt High School Girls Ramban, Bhartiya Vidya Mandir School and more than 300 civilians of district Ramban participated in the run.
The Marathon after passing through Karol, Kala Pani, Neera, Bathi, Kanderi Nalla, GRIF Camp, Transit Camp, Upper Maitra, Lower Maitra, Chandrog finally culminated at New DPL Ramban.
A huge Gathering of spectators were present on the route to witness the event and also cheered the Marathon as the runners passed through different routes.
Dev Raj S/o Gyan Chand of Govt Higher Sec School Ramban stood first, Tilak Raj S/o Sardool Singh of Govt. Higher Sec. School Ramban stood second and Mohd Shabir S/o Mohd Shafi of Govt. Higher Sec. School Ramban bagged third position in Boys Category, while in girls category, Shamshad Akhtar D/o Jamal Din of Govt. Girls High School Ramban claimed first position, Anita Devi D/o Samunder Singh of Govt. Girls High School Ramban secured second place and Manju Devi D/o Prem Singh remained third.
In the presentation ceremony, DDC Ramban, Shabir Ahmed Bhatt was the chief guest, and CEO Ramban, Vinod Kumar Soni was the special guest who distributed the mementos, Cash Prizes and Certificates among winners.
