JAMMU, Apr 18: J&K Sports Promoters Club honoured junior cricketers in an impressive function held at Parade ground, here.
The felicitation function was organized by the Club with an objective to encourage the young and budding cricketers of Jammu who have shown good performances in the previous tournaments.
T-Shirts were distributed among the young cricketers by J&K Sports Promoters Club as a token of gratitude and encouragement.
The tournaments wherein the young cricketers excelled were conducted under the supervision of Rajesh Gill, Former Ranji Trophy Player and the tournaments included 7-Match New Year series, Tri-Series for Under-14 Boys, Diwali T20 Series for Junior Cricketers and Jammu T20 Championship for School Cricketers. The main objective of the tournaments was to provide ample opportunity to the budding cricketers to showcase their hidden talent.
SD Singh Jamwal, IGP Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion whereas Joginder Singh SSP PCR and Ranjeet Kalra, Vice Chairman Jammu Sports Council were the guests of honour.
While speaking on the occasion, IGP Jammu advised the young cricketers to play with sporting spirit, dedication and enthusiasm in order to prepare themselves as professional cricketers and bring laurels for the state.
Earlier, Rajesh Gill apprised the chief guest and other dignitaries present on the occasion about the working of J&K Sports Promoters Club.
The budding cricketers who were honoured included Swastik Sharma, Praful Dhar, Rohan Gill, Aditpal Singh, Abay Tandon, Jugjap Singh, Sachin Sharma, Arya Suvansh Thakur, Akshit Gandral, Umar Sadiq, Ashim Nanda, Kartik Gill, Ragav Thakur and Nalin.
The members of the J&K Sports Promoters Club present on the occasion were Ranjeet Kalra, RK Bhat, Rajesh Gill, Rajesh Dhar, Sudhir Singh, Saleem-Ur-Rehman, Sadiq Hussain and Madan Mohan.
The proceedings of the felicitation function were conducted by Rajesh Dhar.
