JAMMU, Apr 18: Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha, State convener Chetan Sharma today lambasted the Abdullah and Mufti families for allegedly misleading people of Jammu Kashmir and enjoying the power at the cost of lives of Kashmiri youth for the last 70 years.
Talking to media persons, here today, Sharma alleged that the power hungry families in collusion with the successive Governments in New Delhi, have always been trading death and devastation. “ New Delhi did never deliver any justice to the people of the State and held people to ransom. There was no effort to take stake holders viz the general public into confidence and only symbolic lip sympathy was shown by deputing groups of their own men to Kashmir who yielded nothing but just toured the Valley for their own enjoyment,” he said.
The Hindu Mahasabha leader alleged that BJP was also playing similar tactics and instead of revisiting the core issues of the decades-long unrest and resentment, the ruling party was making ambiguous statements.
Chetan Sharma, who had contested the recent held by-polls to the Srinagar Parliamentary constituency, alleged that the Government restricted voters from reaching to the polling booths, . resulting in an all-time low poll percentage. Victory with a four percent votes, out of total 7 percent polled, amply speaks of Dr Farooq Abdullah’s lust for power, who should have immediately resign over low poll percentage. Expres-sing his displeasure, Sharma said that even the Kashmiri Pandits, who claim to be the most loyal to the country, remained indecisive in casting their votes to the righteous candidate and party.
Seema Mahajan, president of the Jammu and Kashmir Women’s Wing of Hindu Mahasabha, expressed solidarity with the J&K Police, which is being targeted by the terrorists despite their public friendly services. She was of the opinion that the Police personnel and their families should not be subjected to selective killings/ harassment.
Chetan Sharma announced that the party would begin constitution of District Committees in all districts of the State in near future covering the Kashmir valley and Leh also.
