LUCKNOW: UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued directions for setting up a state disaster response force (SDRF) on the lines of the NDRF to provide prompt help to victims of natural calamities.
During a presentation of state’s Finance Department late last night, Adityanath said it was essential for the state to have trained men to promptly undertake relief and rescue operations in times of emergency.
“The Chief Minister has directed setting up of SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) on a priority basis for carrying out relief and rescue operations in the event of a natural calamity,” a government spokesman said here today.
The Chief Minister also ordered scrapping of posts which were of no use and prepare a list for adjusting the staff posted on them in other departments.
Stressing that projects prepared should not be revised again and again, the Chief Minister said that instead they should be completed with the help of initially allocated funds. (AGENCIES)
