JAMMU, Apr 19: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr Pawan Kotwal had a detailed inspection of semi-automatic multi-level car parking at Super Bazaar, here today
Divisional Commissioner was accompanied by Chief Executive Officer (CEO), ERA, J&K, Director Jammu, ERA J&K, staff of ERA, Commissioner JMC, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, SSP Traffic, SP City and revenue and khilafwarzi staff of JDA and JMC.
He was apprised that physical progress on the work is about 62 percent and the work is expected to be complete by ending May this year.
The 6 level semi-automatic parking structure will have eight modules with the capacity of parking 352 cars. In addition, the ground level parking will have the capacity of 162 two wheelers. The civil part of the project is complete.
Vinod Sharma, Chief Executive Officer apprised Dr Pawan Kotwal that the structure erection of modules is complete and the trolley installation process in five modules is complete. Pallet installation in two modules is in progress.
It was observed at site that some persons have illegally extended the boundary walls of houses and created shops with the opening in JDA parking lot.
An appeal has been made to them to vacate the encroachment within next couple of days failing which the concerned revenue and khilafwarzi staff with the assistance of police will get the illegal structures removed.
Dr Kotwal directed the officials and the contractor to expedite the work and ensure strict compliance to safety parameters and project guidelines. The estimate cost of project is Rs 43.11 crores and till date expenditure of Rs 21 crores has been incurred.
