JAMMU, Apr 21: Foun-dation Day was celebrated at DCM Public School with great joy and exuberance, here today.
The day reminded the students and the staff about the inception of the school by the Chairman SP Sharma in the loving memory of his father Pt. Dharam Chand, hence DCM-Dharam Chand Memorial Public School.
The students were elated to have the benign presence of the chief guest SDPO, Akhnoor, Gurinder Pal Singh and the Guest of Honour, KCS Mehta, Principal APS Akhnoor along with the Chairman of the School, SP Sharma, Dheeraj Jamwal, Managing Director and Rama Jamwal, Principal of the Institution.
The Programme began with the lighting of the lamp, followed by floral tributes to Pt. Dharam Chand Sharma.
Welcome address was presented by the Principal, Rama Jamwal.
An extravagant cultural programme with impressive dance items, group songs, dances, Acts and Drama act enthralled one and all.
Fun and frolic along with excitement continued to prevail throughout the programme. The chief guest was much delighted to see the performance of the students.
He appreciated the matchless achievements of the school in both academics and sports clinching a prominent position at no. 9 among the top 11 schools of Jammu according to Elets digital world for 2016.
Mr. Mehta lauded the efforts of the Management for providing the best CBSE School to the people of Akhnoor.
Vote of thanks was presented by the Chairman of the School, SP Sharma.
The programme concluded with the singing of National Anthem.
