JAMMU, Apr 21: SMVD University organized Annual Sports Fest ‘Sarang’ today.
The Sports Fest included inter-house tournaments for different games like Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Table-Tennis, Lawn-Tennis and Kabaddi.
On the day of its completion today, various Athletics events were held at Multipurpose Sports Ground of University. Ankita Tiwary secured 1st position (14.6 s) and Muskan bagged 2nd position (15.1 s) in 100m (Women) event, while Hanuman Gurjar clinched 1st position (12.2 s) and Sachin Kapil claimed 2nd position (12.4 s) in 100m (Men) event.
Prasad Birajdar won 1st position (26.1 s) and Shubam Sharma bagged 2nd position (26.7 s) in 200m (M). The winner of 400m (M) was Shubam Sharma (54.2 s) with Hanuman Gurjar (54.9 s) as runners-up.
The events were organized and headed by Board for Sports Activities President, Rajiv Kumar and under the leadership of Captain Sucha Singh, Sports Coach.
All the events were managed by Student Sports Secretary, Jayant Kumar and other coordinators.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Sanjeev Jain congratulated all the winners and appreciated the organizing team for their contribution to make this mega event successful.
