Srinagar, Apr 21: Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) today slammed Government over internet suspension in Valley and said that the measure “creates panic and gives rise to dangerous rumor mongering that can add to the trouble beyond measure.”
In a statement issued here, the KCCI president Mushtaq Ahmad Wani said the Chamber has noted with concern that the “curb and crush” methods adopted by the administration to overcome the perpetual unrest in the valley caused of other unaddressed issues has been causing more harm to the normal activity of life than achieving any desirable result towards restoration of peace in the state.
“While the unabated use of pellets and bullets here and there every now and then has become a routine matter for the security forces, suspension of internet connectivity by the government is used as a tool to hold at ransom the entire online business activities like education, travel, general trade and banking,” said Wani.
The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries therefore urge the Government to avoid suspending the internet at the whiff of air, Wani added in the statement.
