Sir,
Our society today is in the grip of alcohol malaise and the root cause is unchecked mushrooming of liquor bars,shops and other outlets that too in the streets of our rural and semi-urban areas and that too without any tangible checks. Our social fabric is getting vitiated by spurious alcohols and trends show that our young generation, be it any gender, is fast becoming alcohol addict giving credence to low educational achievements and damaging the careers of this generation. The young ones of well to do families as well as of labour class are seen standing in long queues for purchase of spurious liquors. Very small children mostly belonging to labour starta of our society are seen taking spurious alcohols from unscrupulous vendors and no check and counselling by the responsible. The increasing consumption of spurious alcohols is eating up the very vitals of our young generation and causing a great loss to the nation.The trends also show stress and disharmony in the families of addicted children. I appeal to the responsible social as well the public authorities to take necessary and corrective steps to get rid of this menace in due time.
