JAMMU, May 2: Outraged over barbaric act of Pakistani troops that martyred two Indian soldiers and badly mutilated their bodies in Poonch yesterday, different political and social organizations today registered strong protest against the hostile country and demanded a befitting reply to the enemy.
A number of Panthers Party activists, led by Harsh Dev Singh, Balwant Singh Mankotia and Yash Paul Kundal, protested against Pakistan outside UNO office in Jammu. Amid raising vociferous anti-Pak slogans, the protesters torched effigy of the rogue nation seeking its declaration as a terrorist State.
Addressing the gathering, Harsh Dev Singh said that mutilation of the bodies of Indian soldiers was most heinous and barbaric act which was unacceptable and intolerable in any civilized society. “Pakistan’s notoriety has now assumed alarming proportions as PM Nawaz Sharief, its Army chief and dreaded clerics are blatantly supporting the separatists and other disruptive forces operational in the State,” he said and maintained that it was high time that India launched a full throttle campaign against Pakistan at international level for latter’s terror operations on our soil.
Taking a dig at the NDA Government, Singh regretted that the BJP which would harp on its jingoistic slogans like ’56 inches chest of PM Modi’,’10 enemy heads against one Indian martyr’ besides its unrelenting harangues earlier, had miserably retreated from its tall pronouncements with all rhetoric proving hollow rants.
National Panthers Students Union (NPSU) activists also organized a protest rally at Jammu University and burnt the flags and effigies of Pakistan.
The protest was held under the leadership of State president NPSU, Virender Singh, who said that Govt of India should immediately terminate all the bilateral talks with Pakistan and cancel all the treaties with that country. He further said that the Indian Government should immediately launch an Army action against Pakistan for teaching the enemy country a lesson so that the enemy does not dare to do such activities in future.
Virender also lashed out a pro-Pak elements in Kashmir who are silent on the inhuman act of mutilating bodies of soldiers.
Chief spokesperson of J&K Congress, Ravinder Sharma said the reprehensible act of Pakistan is not at all acceptable to anyone in this country and people were keenly watching the response of the Modi Government to this barbarism of Pak.
“We have the fullest faith in the bravery and wisdom of our armed forces, it is time for the Modi Government to prove itself to the expectations of countrymen, in the wake of their repeated assertions in this regard, before and after coming to power. The repeated provocations of Pakistan by resorting to large scale ceasefire violation, increased infiltration attempts and stepping up militant activities and attacks on our forces and especially indulging in this kind of barbarism post surgical strike carried by India, has left the nation appalled and baffled and it seeks appropriate response from the Government of India,” he said in a statement.
The Congress leader said that Pakistan has challenged dignity, prestige and might of our nation which needs to be answered in the appropriate and measured manner to teach the enemy a lesson to desist it from such acts in future. “We stand united with the Government on the issue of our national prestige and territorial integrity of our country,” he added.
Strongly condemning the Pakistan’s inhuman cowardly act of mutilating the bodies of two Indian soldiers and expressing serious concern over the deterioration law and order situation in Kashmir, All Jammu Civil Society Forum (AJCSF) today said that time has come for Central Government to take decisive actions.
In a core group meeting of AJCSF held today under the chairmanship of Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak, the speakers in one voice said that all those who have lost their lives are a loss to the nation; whether they are civilians, cops, security forces personnel or troops deployed on the border.
The core group members exhorted the Central Government for a strong punitive action against Pakistan by launching another more severe strike to deter repetitions of such inhuman misadventures which must be crushed with iron hands. “Time has come for decisive actions and mere slogans and ‘jumlebazi’ is not going to work”, they said.
Dr Narinder Singh, State general secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party, has also strongly condemned the barbaric act of Pakistan Army in Poonch as well as the killing of 7 innocent Kashmiri Muslims at Pulwama by Jihadi terrorists. He said looting of Rs 50 lakh from the J&K Bank cash van and snatching of seven weapons is also a serious matter and threat to the security of common people.
Dr Singh criticized the Kashmir based political leaders for their hypocrisy since none of them except the CM has condemned this barbaric act. “They resort to issue lengthy statements whenever a terrorist is killed but remain silent when our soldiers are martyred or innocent civilians are killed by the Jehadi terrorists,” rued Dr Singh. He warned the Kashmiri leaders that the venomous snakes they were sheltering and allowing to grow in their backyards would one day finish them only.
The workers of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena, under the leadership of president Ashok Gupta, took out a protest in Jammu city by hurling shoes on the Pakistan national flag and also on the pictures of Pak Prime Minister Nawaz Sharief.
While addressing the protesters, Gupta said that surgical strikes were not enough to teach Pakistan a lesson and India should go for a full fledge war like with the enemy country and finish Pakistan from the world for once for all solution. “The emotions of people are running very high after such a barbaric act and the Government should act quickly to bring down the emotions of the people and also making sure that the sacrifice made by the Army men does not go waste,” he added.
Sunil Dimple, president of Jammu West Assembly Movement, led an anti- Pakistan protest demonstration against the mutilation of Indian soldiers on the LoC, killing of seven Police Jawans and civilians in militant attack and fast deteriorating law and order situation in Kashmir Vallley. Amidst shouting of slogans, the protesters torched Pakistan flag and effigies of Nawaz Sharief as well as Kashmiri separatists.
Addressing the protesters, Sunil Dimple appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to hand over the Jammu Kashmir State to Army and dissolve the PDP-BJP Government.
State NCP president and former Minister Thakur Randhir Singh has also strongly condemned the Pakistan Army’s action of killing and mutilating the bodies of two Indian soldiers and said such despicable act should be appropriately responded by bigger surgical strike against Pakistan.
In a statement, he said that the whole country has full faith in our armed forces, which must react appropriately to this act of barbarism.
Castigating Pakistan for planning and plotting of terrorist activities here, former MLC and president of District Congress Committee Kathua, Subash Gupta alleged that it was also a failure of Indian Government and the leadership.
Demanding a befitting reply, he said that India should conduct military operations the way America conducted in Pakistan on Osama Bin Laden and should kill the terror leaders, so that a stern message can be sent to the terrorists that when it comes to the protection of the country India Army is willing to go to any level for the protection of its citizen. He also demanded that Pakistan should be declared as a Terrorist State.
JK Unity Trust, along with children and staff of Luthra Public School, paid tributes to the martyrs of Poonch and Kulgam attacks. The children prayed for the peace of the souls of the martyrs by lighting candles while Gourav Chopra, chairman of JK Unity Trust, said that the time has come for befitting reply to Pakistan.
Shiv Shakti Sena staged a protest demonstration against Pakistan and alleged that the Central Government has totally failed to put a check upon such provocative acts on the part of Pak army. The protesters torched Pak flag and raised slogans seeking befitting reply to the enemy country.
While addressing the protest demonstration, Shiv Shakti Sena president Rakesh Gupta also drew attention towards the killing of 07 persons, including 05Army men and 02 Bank employees by militants in Kashmir.
Welfare Society Guru Nanak Nagar Jammu today held a meeting and strongly condemned the latest beheading of two belt force personals by the Pakistan Army. The society strongly urged the Central Government to take concrete steps in the matter and expose the terrorist character of Pakistan before the world community and further to retaliate in the matter in such a manner so that Pakistan Army never dares to repeat such act of cowardice in future. The society also paid tributes to the martyred person and expressed condolences for the loss to the bereaved families. Balwinder Singh Rinku, A S Khera, Ajay Mahajan, Hardeep Singh, B S Tirthi Sanjeev Talwar and others attended the meeting.
