UDHAMPUR, May 4: A young girl committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at her residence in Ramnagar.
The deceased, identified as Seema Devi (19), daughter of Ashok Kumar of village Panj Grai Nagrota Ramnagar, was a student of class 12th. She consumed some poisonous substance under mysterious circumstances in her home yesterday. The family members noticed her in serious condition and rushed her to District Hospital Udhampur, where doctors referred her to GMC Jammu. Despite hectic efforts by the doctors, she did not respond to the treatment and died late last night.
Cause of provocation behind the extreme step could not be ascertained while Police has registered the case and started investigation.
