JAMMU, May 5: Non-Gazetted Police Pensioners Welfare Forum members today held protest in support of their demands  and also  condemned  the beheading of soldiers in Poonch area by Pak troops.
Led by Ajit Singh, chairman of the Forum, the members assembled here and started protest demonstration.  They were shouting slogans in support of their demands. The workers were strongly opposing Govt order No. 229-F of 2014 of dated 17-10-2014 regarding pay anomalies. They said the effect should have been given from 1996 when 5th Pay Commission was implemented through out the State but only J&K Police department was left out. Some of them have expired but the surviving strugglers should get the benefit.
They pointed out that various Pay Anomaly Committees have been formed and they have given their opinions and approvals from time to time but no desired progress was  witnessed in this regard.  They also demanded cashless health care policy for the retired police personnel on the pattern of Military and Para-Military forces. They also demanded 15 % quota for their wards in police and professional courses.
They also protested against the inhumane act of Pakistan near the LoC in Poonch  and expressed shock over the incident of Kulgam and martyrdom of  Policemen. They said that Govt must take effective measures to curb such incidents.
