Shodh Sansthan to organise Chandi Maha Yagya for peace in Kashmir

JAMMU, May 7: For restoration of peace in trouble -torn Valley of Kashmir and to invoke the blessings of Goddess Chandi Mata on the people, Pt. Prem Nath Shastri Sanskritik Shodh Sansthan is organizing two days Chandi Maha Yagya at holy shrine of Mata Kheer Bhawani at Tulmulla in Central Kashmir district of Ganderbal on July 1 and 2 this year -the day coinciding with Jesht Ashtami.
This was announced by Chairman of the Sansthan Pt Omkar Nath Shastri at a press conference along with other scholars including Prof A K Ogra, Kuldeep Raina president Samajik Vikas Sansthan, Ramesh Hangloo president Pir Panchal and Prof B L Zuthsi a well known scholar here today.
Shastri Ji said that Sansthan has been organising Maha Yagyas for the world peace from time to time all over the country in general and Kashmir in particular especially since 2006.
He said on the occasion of Dashar on June 14 last year a religious get together was organized at Shadipur Sangam the confluence of holy Vitasta and Sindh rivers in Ganderbal district and thousands of devotees took a dip in the holy waters there.
He said this year’s Maha Chandi Yagya will be performed for restoration of peace in Valley.
He said in addition to it a two days dharmic Samelan will be held for Kashmiri Pandits on October 14 and 15 this year at Jammu. In this Samelan the scholars of the community from length and breadth of the country will participate. The focus in it will be on the culture and traditions of the community, the religious festivals of the community and the unity in the community.
He said stress will be laid on unity of the community which is the need of hour. Shastri Ji said the renowned scholars of the community will be invited in the Samelan to give their view point on these issues.
