JAMMU, May 7: The residents of Sainik Colony held protest over opening of wine shop.
Large number of people including women, school and college students assembled infront of the newly opened wine shop at Sector-C, Sainik Colony and held protest.
They were demanding closure of the wine shop in the area so that the peace and tranquility may not be disturbed. Opening of wine shop may increase the criminal activities, they added.
The protesting people stated that the matter was also brought into the notice of Speaker, Legislative Assembly and MLA Gandhi Nagar Kavinder Gupta, but nothing was done by him.
They appealed to the concerned authorities to immediate order closure of the wine shop otherwise they come on roads and will protest in aggressive manner.
