Chandan clinches 1st position, enters next level

KATRA, Oct 19: On 3rd day of  All India Devotional Song Competition, a part of Navratra festival being held at Yog Ashram  Katra, Chandan Kumar from Jammu clinched 1st   position while Abhinandan Khajuria from Hira Nagar and  Sarabjeet Singh from Digiana, Jammu shared 2nd position and 3rd position was shared by Arun Slain from Jammu and Varun Singh from Chandigarh.
Deputy Commissioner, Reasi, Nirmal Sharma who was the chief guest on the occasion.
Deputy Director Tourism, Tarseem Raj, Additional SP Katra, President, Hotel & Restaurant Association Katra, prominent citizens and large number of devotees were present on the occasion.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Rakesh Wazir, Chairman of the competition.
An attractive Shobha Yatra cum Cultural procession reflecting different facets of rich cultural heritage of the State was taken out from Asia crossing Katra last evening.
The procession after passing through main locations of the holy town culminated at Higher Secondary School Katra. Various Jhankies like traditional Kud by Khem Raj & party,  Ladakhi dance, Dogra Joint family, Itarsi Band and various scenes from Ramayana and Mahabharata were the main attraction of the procession. Different scenes of the Jhankies were so tastefully decorated that no one could resist himself to give repeated applause and slogans in praise of Goddess Durga.
