2nd Sub Junior Dodge Ball Championship concludes *Taj distributes prizes

SRINAGAR, Oct 19: The 2nd Sub Junior Dodge Ball (Boys & Girls) championship-2012 concluded this evening. 17 teams from different States attended the event.
Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control,  Taj Mohi-ud- Din, who was the chief guest on the occasion, distributed prizes among the winners and runners up teams.
He asked the participant players to enjoy the scenic beauty of Kashmir while staying in the Valley in connection with the tournament. He also appreciated the enthusiasm of the participant players.
The Minister hoped the players would come again to Jammu and Kashmir and act as ambassadors of the State.
Earlier, in his welcome address, President, J&K Dodge Ball Association, S Surinder Singh Channi, gave a brief account about Dodge Ball and its evolution as a sport.
Director, News, Doordarshan, B A Malik was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Maharashtra and Delhi emerged winners among boys and girls categories while as Karnataka and Chandigarh in boys category and Maharashtra and Haryana in girls category emerged second and third in the championship.
Present on the occasion were Director, Youth Services and Sports, S Jaipal Singh, Secretary, Dodge Ball Federation of India, P S Brar and officers of State administration.
