ACM distinguished lecture organized at MIET

JAMMU, May 10: Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET), organized the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), Distinguished Lecture at its campus. Dr. Gargi Banerjee Dasgupta, Senior Research Manager, IBM Research, India delivered a deeply insightful talk on “Cognitive Computing” covering aspects of artificial intelligence, machine and deep learning, natural language processing and sentiment analysis for over 200 computer science and IT students and faculty members of MIET.
Prof. Ankur Gupta, Director, MIET formally welcomed the Distinguished Visitor and apprised the audience of her illustrious background and achievements. Dr. Gargi B. Dasgupta received her PhD in Computer Science from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, USA in 2003. She has been working with IBM research since 2004 and is currently heading the team delivering next-generation of cognitive services in the area of IT operational analytics. She has over 50+ publications in top journals and conferences and several granted US patents.
Dr. Gargi was accorded a warm welcome by the student members of the ACM Student Chapter at MIET and given a demonstration of the in-house developed analytics product Performance Insight 360 which she greatly appreciated.
